I made this Gordon Freeman costume (from the video game Half Life 2) largely out of craft foam. It took about a week's worth of work to complete in time for Halloween 2006. Got about 8 hours of sleep total during that week, but worth it!

well done! Too bad the photo's so back lit, it makes it hard to see details. But it looks like you did a very good job painting everything, and all the shapes are spot-on.

Actually, I purposely backlit the photo to resemble the source photo. :) I painted some weathering and light battle damage to the suit so I wouldn't look so new. The final colors aren't exact to the game, but I think it makes it look more semi-realistic instead of with bright colors.

You're right, the production art is backlit, isn't it? (I love those images, with the ash falling like snow. And I like Alyx with the socket wrench.)

I think toning down the colors is a good idea. Bright orange is rather..garish.
